    You’ll Need

    • A fresh white candle
    • A quiet place to practice

    The Ritual

    Cleanse your space and tools.

    Ground and center your energy.

Light the candle. Watch as the dances, bobs, and spins on the wick. Feel the light of the flame flow into your body and your being. Notice what emotions rise to the surface. Hold space for anything that comes up and witness yourself at this moment. Allow your feelings to move through you freely. When you feel ready, ask yourself: How do I want to move forward? Commit at this moment to do just that.

You might like to note your commitment to yourself in your journal. Now say out loud, “And so it is.”

Snuff or pinch out the candle.

  • New Moon Cleansing Bath Ritual

A cleansing New Moon bath, or shower, resets your energies for the coming lunar cycle and allows you to release any energies that no longer serve you.

    You’ll need:

    • Salt (Epsom salt is wonderful)
    • Three sprigs of fresh rosemary
    • A lemon, cut into slices

Find a quiet time during the New Moon phase when you can relax. Cleanse your space and ingredients. Get yourself into a magickal, joyful frame of mind. Play your favorite music and light a candle or two if you feel inclined.

    Run a bath.

Add your salt, rosemary, and lemon slices to the bathwater. Relax into the bath and allow yourself to feel peaceful in the fragrant water. Stay in this relaxed state for as long as you like.

When you are ready to get out of the bath, visualize the warm water easing all the worries, pressures, stresses, and negative energies from your being. Release all the things that no longer serve you into the water and allow the salt, lemon, and rosemary to cleanse and protect you energetically. Get out of the bath. Allow the tub to drain and watch all the energy that no longer serves you swirling down the drain and away from you.

  • Blue Moon

    Blue Moon

Blue Moon refers to when a Full Moon appears for the second time in the same calendar month. This Blue Moon happens to fall on Wednesday, the day of Mercury . . . during Mercury ret-rograde. While Mercury retrograde does not lend itself well to important new conversations, it provides ample opportunities to revisit unresolved situations and explore them from new perspectives.

It also gives us time to look back on what we might have done differently. While there is an adage that you regret the things you don’t do, the reality is that there are, for all of us, things we have done, said, and tried that we wish we had not. So take an inventory of what you regret, especially looking over what you regret that impacted another person. Can you make amends? If you no longer have contact with someone you impacted, can you make amends in a different way? This exercise is not to answer karmic imbalance but to answer the feeling of regret and understand it only act from emotional alignment.
